Is there a minimum contract?
No. There is no minimum. Though, I do recommend that SEO campaigns last for 6-12 months to get the best results.
How long will it take?
I recommend that SEO campaigns last for 6-12 months to get the best results. In that time you will see your site move up in the search results. How quickly your site moves up depends on the competitiveness of the search term – how many other businesses are trying to get higher for the same search.
How long should SEO campaigns last for?
As a minimum, they should last for between 6-12 months. It is not unusual for sites to drop down again when SEO is stopped, since business competitors may continue with their own SEO and reclaim top spots. Ideally, SEO should be continued to maintain your website’s position in seaches.
What is the cancellation notice?
I require 30 days notice to cancel the campaign. This gives me enough time to wind it down.
How are payments made?
I collect payments by direct debit through GoCardless. You are always in full control of your account through them.
Can you work with websites on Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, etc?
Yes, I certainly can and do all the time. Some website builders and content management systems have limitations on what can be done on the site for SEO . If that is the case, then I’ll chat to you about the restrictions and present some options on how to resolve them.
What do you need to make a start and be able to work on the site?
I need a login to the website builder or content management system. This would be the admin panel for WordPress, Joomla, Wix or Squarespace. I need this to be able to make the changes to the pages on the site.
If you do not have a content management system or website builder then I need FTP login details.
If you already have a Google My Business profile set up then I’ll need access to that. With website access I can gain access to other Google tools that I’ll need.
Do I have to do anything, can I just leave it to you?
No, you don’t need to do anything and, yes, you can just leave it to me. It will be helpful, though, if you could provide information or photos every now or then which I can use for updates and content.
Can you work with my website designer?
Yes, I can. I understand that you may prefer the changes to be made by someone else and I am happy to work with them in the best way for all 3 of us.
Can you build a website for me?
Yes, I can build a site for you using the very popular platform WordPress. We can arrange either a one-off payment for it or I can do it for free if you agree to a certain contract length (usually 12 months, depending on the type of site).
Do you guarantee a number 1 spot?
No. And please be wary of anyone who does. They usually keep their “guarantee” by not specifying the keyword the number 1 spot will be for (who realistically searches for “P R Plumbing Ltd, plumber in Reading”?).
Can you get me higher than …. ?
See above. I will certainly do my best. Ask me to take a look at them first. Fortunately, SEO is very transparent – there are plenty of ways to see what SEO others are doing – and it’s possible to see how committed they are to SEO themselves.
